Desperately

“There is nothing in this universe you need more desperately than Christ.” (jesustotheworld.tumblr.com)

Many Christians use the Romans Road (taken from the book of Romans in the Bible) as a simple way to explain how a person can go to Heaven (when they die).  Below you will find the Romans Road (plus additional verses I have added to better aid in explaining this process). All scripture is taken from The Message paraphrase of the Bible.

1.    Romans 3:10, 3:23 – The fact of sin. (You are a sinner.) “No one is righteous-not even one…For everyone has sinned. We all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

2.   Romans 6:23 – The penalty for sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

3.   Romans 5:8 - Christ paid the penalty for your sin. “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

4.    Romans 10:9-10, 13 - You must accept Jesus as your only way to get to Heaven. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in you heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

5  1 John 5:11-13 The assurance of arriving in Heaven. “… God gave us eternal life; the life is in His Son. So, whoever has the Son has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life…You who believe in God’s Son will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life.”

6.   Ephesians 2:8-9Becoming a Christian does not happen by your good works. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”

7.   John 3:16How to go to Heaven summarized in one verse. “For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
