The Damage

“You will never understand the damage you did to someone until the same thing is done to you. That’s why I’m here.”  (Karma)

The older I get the more careful I am with what I say and do when I am angry (or choose to gossip). I can’t count the number of situations that I have negatively commented on that become my reality months (or years) later. Today I see certain events in the lives of other individuals (known or stranger), and so badly want to give my negative commentary on it (without that person knowing it).

Then I take a moment to think, “Do I want their mess to resurrect it’s self in my life in another form?”  I then close my mouth as I avoid saying anything for my benefit. Of course, there are other times I ignore my own advice, and pay the price for a situation I never wanted.

The principles of karma are best exemplified in Galatians 6:7 (NOG): Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you’ll harvest.” If you put wonderfully encouraging things (and people) into your life, you can expect blessings from God.  If you do the opposite of this, you can only imagine that what you will get will be awful. How is your karma going? Are you keeping in your life what is most important as you work to respect others as you wish to be treated?

Matthew 6:19-21 (NOG) says: “Stop storing up treasures for [you] on earth, where moths and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal. Instead, store up treasures for yourselves in Heaven, where moths and rust don’t destroy and thieves don’t break in and steal. Your heart will be where your treasure is.” It all boils down to not putting out in your world what you don’t want to get back. I believe your possessions (and money) have an effect on how you treat others. (Remember, money makes the world go around) Are you storing your biggest karma motivator somewhere?
