“God created you
with immeasurable value and worth. Never forget you are a son or daughter of
the King of kings. In all things: everything you say, everything you do, every
choice you make, honor your heavenly Father by respecting yourself. “(Stacy L. Sanchez)
To go out
for (to serve) Jesus,
You must come to
Him by submitting to His authority-
“Are
you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life,
for I am your oasis. 29 Simply join your life with mine. Learn
my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, [and] easy to please. You will find refreshment
and rest in me. 30For all that I require of you will be pleasant and
easy to bear.” (Matthew 11:28-30, TPT)
Today, you may not be called to give up as much as the
twelve disciples did to follow Jesus, but the Savior may ask you to do
uncomfortable tasks to help others as you demonstrate His love to a world (that
needs Him desperately).
You must listen
and understand His will-
Everyone
must continue to follow only the teaching about Christ. Whoever changes that
teaching does not have God. But whoever continues to follow the
teaching about Christ has both the Father and his Son. (2 John 1:9, ERV)
It’s impossible for you to understand the will of God unless
you are into the Word of God (the Bible).Compassion without action is guilt,
but small acts of kindness are what compassion is all about.
You must completely go all out for (give in to) Him-
How
could you worship two gods at the same time? You will have to hate one and love
the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t worship the
true God while enslaved to the god of money. (Matthew 6:24, TPT)
What impression do people have of a Christian by seeing you?
Do they see grace? Gentle actions lead people to Jesus. You are an ambassador of Christ in a broken
world. Be a difference maker.
“Christ has no body
now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through
which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks
to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours
are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ
has no body now on earth but yours.” (Teresa
of Avila)
To be an intentional Christian, doesn’t
always mean that you are qualified to do what God asks of you. It does mean with
a humble heart that you are daily committed to following Him to the best of your
ability (as He needs you). [i]
