A Song

"Birds teach a great life lesson. All you have to do is listen to their song." (LittleThings)

Bird lovers, did you know the Bible mentions lots of different kinds of birds in the scripture? Some of them are the eagle, the hen (and chicks), the dove, the raven, the sparrow, the vulture, the ostrich, the hawk, the seagull, the owl, the cormorant, and the stork. There are important lessons found in the Bible that the birds want to tweet to (and teach) us all.

Matthew 6:26, VOICE

Look at the birds in the sky. They do not store food for winter. They don’t plant gardens. They do not sow or reap—and yet, they are always fed because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are even more precious to Him than a beautiful bird. If He looks after them, of course He will look after you.  There is no need to worry because God is invested in the details of your life.

Job 12:7, 9, ICB

But ask the animals, and they will teach you.  Or ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you.  Every one of these knows that the hand of the Lord has done this. God has you life all planned out from the beginning to the end (with the good and the challenging times in between those two points). It is comforting that Someone more intelligent than you always knows what’s happening in your life second by second.

James 3:7-8, VOICE

Humanity is capable of taming every bird and beast in existence, even reptiles and sea creatures great and small.  But no man has ever demonstrated the ability to tame his own tongue! It is a spring of restless evil, brimming with toxic poisons.  The power of your mouth has the ability to bestow a blessing or a curse on someone. With God’s help, what will you  choose? (Make the right choice.)

Proverbs 27:8, GNT

Anyone away from home is like a bird away from its nest. Wherever you consider home; don’t stray far from it. This is where you are love, accepted, and gain meaning for your life.

Matthew 8:20, TPT

Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no true home in this world.” Again today, Jesus is looking for a place to reside. Is your heart (and life) available?

Matthew 13:32, TLV

It’s the smallest of all seeds; yet when it’s full grown; it’s greater than the other herbs. It becomes like a tree so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. Is your life (and actions) a refuge to those overwhelmed by the difficulties they face on a regular basis?

Genesis 1:20, TLV

Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures. Let flying creatures fly above the land across the expanse of the sky.” I believe God was thinking of all the bird watchers when He created something like this to love and enjoy. Take time today to notice God’s creation. What in it gives you immense joy. We get our creative abilities (whatever they are) from the one true Creator.
