The lizard known as the “chameleon” comes in 160 specie varieties.
Almost half of them live inside the island of Madagascar. Chameleons have a 360
degree arc of vision that allows them to see in two directions at one time (as
well as ultraviolet lighting). They hear by vibrations (or sound frequencies),
and have tongues similar in use to frogs (ballistically).
The famous color changing ability chameleons are known
for happens as a result of a pigment cell known as “chromatophores”
that lay on the outer layers of their skin.
Chameleons can change to any
color, brown to green and black are most common. The action can happen in as
little as twenty seconds. A chemical known as “melanin” helps the chromatophores pigments mix together just like
paint with a message from the brain to make it happen for the chameleon.
Though chameleons can vary in size and body structure,
feet construction, and head or facial ornamentation (on males), scientists can agree
that the famous change chameleons are known is probably not a result of their
surroundings. Studies show that light, temperature, and mood have the greatest
bearing on this action.*
Just like the changing chameleons, sometimes humans can
make too many alterations to themselves, and not for the right reasons. “The
Chameleon Effect” is a serious Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) that can
cause a constant, fluctuating, unconscious change in someone’s identity,
mannerisms, and other behaviors as they passively and unintentionally change to
match those in their current social environment.
I believe “The Chameleon Effect” has a great deal to do
with someone not coming to terms with the authentic creation God made them to
be. Do you know who should be defining you? The Almighty will always love you
as the highly talented and cherished child (of His you are).
In fact, your loving Heavenly Father makes these insights
about you:
1. God
is more concerned about (your heart attitude towards Him) than your outward
appearance. (1 Samuel 16:7)
2. God
is pleased with the wonderful job He did on creating you in such exquisite
detail. (Psalm 139:14-16)
3. Everything
God created is valuable, and not to be wasted or thrown away like trash. (1Timothy 4:4)
4. Commit
everything you do to God because He has special plans for your life. (Proverbs 16:3, Jeremiah 29:11)
5. In
every area of your life, where you are emotionally weak, God’s grace is
sufficient for your every need. (God will always be everything you will ever
need.) (2 Corinthians 12:9-10, 1 Corinthians 15:10)
7. Use
the spiritual gifts God has given you to serve Him, others, and be truly happy.
(See Knowledge Is Understanding, 1 Corinthians 12:4-30)
When
you allow yourself to be authentic, God can help you remain that way. Always
understand that God may interpret your prayers to Him differently than you
meant them. As this post comes to an end, understand the logic of chorus of the
song, “Home,” by artist, Christopher Daughtry.
Be
careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it all
You just might get it all and then some you don't want
Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it all
You just might get it all.
You just might get it all and then some you don't want
Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it all
You just might get it all.
