“If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to
make a mistake?”* Blunders can often be embarrassing and
costly at the same time. As a man, these unwanted reminders often remind me
that I don’t know it all, and might need to reach out for help.
Proverbs 14:33 (NKJV) says, “Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has
understanding…” Though it may not seem this way at first, the errors we
make are actually pathways to learning how to better do (or re-do) any
situation in the future. Whether it’s pertaining to our home life or at work,
better connecting with other people is vital.
It’s important to realize that a truly
intelligent person knows we all will need assistance sometime in our life. That
says absolutely nothing about you personally. It just means you are a human
being with emotions, and not a mechanical robot. I find flawed people much easier
to relate to because they remind me of my many imperfections.
Reach out to others when you in need.
Don’t rob them of the opportunity to bless you. There are organizations all
over the world that are set up for the very purpose of assisting in time of
crisis.
A good source I have always used when
searching out information on a wide variety of topics is the Columbus
Metropolitan Library Information & Questions Phone Line. I pick up my
library materials (mostly audio books and DVDs) at their Gahanna branch. The
Helpline and the library website (www.columbuslibrary.org) are great
informational starting points for anything of interest (or curiosity) to you. You
do not have to be a CML member to use them. They can be reached at 614-645-2275
(TASK). Good luck as you turn into the person you only hoped you could be.
