No one is
immune to escape some form of tragedy (either directly or indirectly through someone
else’s pain). The media (and electronics) has made it part of today’s culture.
Nothing feels quite as refreshing (and needed) as a glimmer of hope.
With the Sunday
programming of Answered Prayers, The
Learning Channel (TLC) has provided quality programming for the person that
wishes to be both inspired (and entertained).
Roma Downey (the
angel Monica from the series, Touched by
an Angel) presents three true-life stories where God entered into the
middle of a human crisis to create a true miracle when He was called upon in
hopeless circumstances.
Each week two
to three scenarios are clearly reenacted with breath-taking scenery and commentary
by those that were actually involved in these crises. Host (and master
storyteller) Roma Downey brings each death and life struggle to satisfying
conclusions of God’s grace with her soothing Irish accent.
Answered Prayers always leaves one with a great deal to
ponder at its show conclusion. Each show ends with this reminder “Where there
is faith. There is hope. Please keep on believing” That’s something we all need
to take to heart.
NOTE: We all know
that some of the best things in life can vanish at any time. As of this
writing, the season one series finale occurred on August 30, 2015. Hopefully,
the show will be renewed with TLC for future episodes. Occasionally, Roma
Downey speaks about the series on Twitter at #AnsweredPrayers.
