Internally

“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on...that’s who we really are.” (J.K. Rowling)

A long time ago before God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, He made the angels. The most beautiful of them was named “Lucifer,” which means "light from heaven". He sparkled with incredible brilliance. Lucifer was in charge of leading all of the praise and worship in Heaven. Thousands of angels (and other creatures) worshipped God at His throne.

Lucifer was prideful of his position. He thought he was great and should
be praised instead of God. Lucifer was jealous, and decided to punish God by taking one-third of all the angels in Heaven as he left. All those angels that left Heaven turned into Satan’s demons.

David Jeremiah had this to say: Satan can imitate God, but he cannot duplicate Him. God is the only One who can deliver us from our pain and suffering.”  So just like God and His heavenly angels, Satan has his own hierarchy of demons, which is presented below:

The First Hierarchy

Leviathan is believed to be the prince of the Seraphim, who tempts humans to give into heresy.

Asmodeus is considered to tempt people to immorality.

Astaroth is believed to be the prince of Thrones, who tempts humans for laziness.

Berith is considered to be the prince of the Cherubim, who tempts people to be quarrelsome, and to commit murder.

Gressil is considered to be the third prince of Thrones, who tempts humans with impure thoughts.

Verrine tempts people with impatience.

Sonneillon is believed to be fourth prince of Thrones, who tempts men with hatred.

The Second Hierarchy

Carreau (prince of Powers) tempts people with rudeness and hardness of heart.

Carnivean (prince of Powers) tempts men to hardheartedness and obscenity.

Oeillet (prince of Dominions) tempts people for breaking the vow of poverty.

Rosier is considered to be the second in the order of Dominions. He tempts humans towards sexual impurity

Verrier (prince of Principalities) tempts men against obedience.

TheThird Hierarchy

Belias was considered to be the prince of Virtues. He tempts humans with arrogance, and tempts women to raise their children without discipline. He tempts them for vanity and for gossip during church.

Olivier is known as the prince of the Archangels. This demon tempts men with wickedness and cruelty for the poor.

Luvart is the prince of Angels, and has dominion over human possession. Luvart possessed Sister Madeline during the demon attacks on nuns in the South of France in the seventeenth century.

"Be careful fighting someone else's demons, it might awaken your own." (Bryant McGill)[i]
