“Christ is the only way to Heaven. All other paths are detours to doom.” (Phillip J. Huggins)
Jesus
answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is
through me. (John
14:6, Easy-to-Read Version)
There
is no one else who has the power to save us, for there is only one name to
whom God has given authority by which we must experience salvation the
name of Jesus. (Acts 4:12, the Passion Translation)
Not every spiritual path leads to God. Though you should show respect for other’s freedom
to have their individual religious viewpoints, Christianity is the pathway to
God by salvation through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
Universalism is the concept that everyone
gets to Heaven, which is false. A core tenant of Christianity is sola christus,
which means “in Christ alone.”
It is
your sins that separate you from your God. He turns away from you when he sees
them. (Isaiah
59:2, Easy-to-Read Version)
If you had a cure for cancer, would you keep
that to yourself? Most likely, you would tell everybody just as you should with
Jesus’ free gift of salvation.
If you had a cold, and were told you could
choose between your favorite flavor of ice cream and cold medicine that would
heal you, which would you choose? In today’s world, there exists a “religious smorgasbord”
that allows you to pick the denomination “that tastes good” instead going to a
church that spiritually feeds your soul with “nutritious, healthy food.”
The Bible
mentions 4 times for believers to be holy as God is holy. What is your list
of things that keep you from God? Are they things you haven’t done, or things
you should have done?
All religions (except Christianity) do some
kind of moral self-improvement plan to be good and holier in an attempt to get
closer on the “ladder” to God. All of
these plans do not take into account that a sinful human being can never be
perfect enough to meet the holiness standard of a just God. Jesus (our Substitute)
did this on the cross with His sacrifice, which meets God’s standard of
holiness.
Everyone
has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory. (Romans 3:23, New
International Reader's Version)
“Life begins once
Jesus becomes the reason you live it.” (Anonymous)[i]
