Beautiful Gifts

 Compliments are the most beautiful gifts that we can give each other (especially when they come straight from the heart). They are like these instant positivity boosters. That put a big smile on people’s faces.” (The Power of Silence)

Chances are good that you have met someone that enjoys complimenting themselves for a job well done on a regular basis. This person does not get as much positive affirmation as they feel they deserve from others (so they decide to fill in the gap with their own words of praise). These kind of people can grate on nerves after awhile (with their constant bird-like chirping about how wonderful they are within hearing range of other people).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling satisfaction for having done a good job on something. The Bible does not condone self-praise as mentioned in Proverbs 27:2 (VOICE): Let someone else praise you. Compliments are always sweeter from a stranger’s lips than from your own.  If others never compliment you at all, realize your heavenly Father  is proud of your accomplishments. God’s approval is enough.

Get the reputation of being known as a “complimenter.” Most of us, may never know what’s going in an individual’s personal life. Give random compliments to those you know (as well as strangers, which involves boldness on your part). Your kind word could mean the difference them being in a positive emotional place (or a negative one).

Mark Twain said, “I can live for two months on a good compliment.” Maya Angelou wrote this, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Is there someone who could live in positivity (for a long time) with a kind word from you? Who needs to hear from you verbally (or in writing) just how much you appreciate them? Remember, what Proverbs 18:21(TPT):  Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life… What are your words doing, or failing to do?
