Life

“There are two great days in a person's life:- the day we are born and the day we discover why.” (William Barclay)

Dear Myself,

Be grateful that you’re able to see another year of life. There are so many people that don’t get the gift of celebrating another birthdays. It’s important to pray every day. I’ve still got a lot to learn, and goals to accomplish. Here are some lessons that I want to share with you:

DON’T SETTLE: So many people settle with being mediocre because it’s the easier route to take. Society tends to dictate how we should live our lives. Folks are okay with taking what they can get in relationships, marriages, jobs, pay, and friendships. Do not set yourself up for the bare minimum. Follow your intuition when it comes to life if not you’ll end up resentful like a lot of these people out here.

FOCUS ON YOUR LIFE’S PATH: Don’t worry about what’s happening with others because that is none of your business. You are God’s child. Your Heavenly Father has got your whole life planned out for you. It’s going to be a fabulous life. Use this time to prepare yourself for the adventure that’s about to happen soon. May this new year of your life  be filled with love, happiness, money, genuine people, laughs, knowledge, new opportunities to grow, and leaving the past far behind you. Live your life to the maximum.

STOP WASTING TIME: Use your free time to do things for the betterment of you. For example, if you work a 9 to 5 job come home and use the rest of the day to get things done for a hobby that will make you money. Use every ounce of time to build and create. Remember, time is the most valuable thing a person can spend. It cannot be gotten back. Use it wisely.
SURROUND YOURSELF, WITH GOOD POSITIVE PEOPLE ONLY: I cannot stress this enough. As you get older you realize it’s not about the quantity of friends, but the quality of them. If I could go back in time there would be so many people I would boldly ignore because turns out, they were awful people that I had no business being with. I should have been with people, who had values, wanted to be something in life, genuinely wanted to see me win, had the same interest as me, and motivated me. Some people are nice to your face, but gossip about you behind your back. Ignore me if you are going to act like that.

TRULY LOVE YOURSELF AND DRIP IN CONFIDENCE: This is like the number one thing you must master as you get older because some opinionated human being will always have something to say about you. We live in a world where people don’t want you to love who you are so they will often criticize who you are to the point where you start to question (or change) yourself. This is the one thing I will teach my kids at birth so they can grow up with the mindset of I am special, and believe it into their adulthood. Don’t doubt yourself. Loving yourself is a learning process. Always spring back through whatever life throws your way.

Love,

Jade
