Because of who Jesus is and what He did for us, our relationship with the Heavenly Father changes. Through Jesus we have a new connection with our Heavenly Father that we didn’t have before as we now approach Him. We are best to come before Him without a self-centered agenda. Sincerity of heart is what we need to have with God. This means we seek to enjoy fellowship with Him as we worship Him.
No scripture quite covers all the emotions and frailty of drawing near to your Heavenly Father better than Psalm 121(VOICE). Have you ever found that emotions so beautifully described below are something that you completely understand?
“I look up at the vast size of the mountains— from where will my help come in times of trouble? The Eternal Creator of Heaven and earth and these mountains
will send the help I need. He holds you firmly in place; He will not let you fall.
He who keeps you will never take His eyes off you and never drift off to sleep.
What a relief! The One who watches over Israel never leaves for rest or sleep. The Eternal keeps you safe, so close to Him that His shadow is a cooling shade to you. Neither bright light of sun nor dim light of moon will harm you. The Eternal will keep you safe from all of life’s evils from your first breath to the last breath you breathe from this day and forever.”
You can become close to God with
confidence because…
1.
God is always watching over you.
“Can we be unsafe where God has placed us, and
where He watches over us as a parent as a child that he loves?” (Francois Feneton)
2.
God is always beside you.
“When it hurts to look back, and
you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will
be there.”
(Anonymous)
3.
God is always holding your future.
“Why wish upon a star when you
can pray to the One who created it.” (AbsoluteLyin LoveWithHim. Tumblr) [i]
