Breathe Again

Bad things begin to happen “when a person stops breathing[i] [for any reason, they become] at risk for heart problems and possible brain injury (due to the lack of oxygen in the blood)...” [ii]

Spiritually, if I don’t do the things (Bible reading, prayer, church, etc.) that need to be done to keep my relationship with the Heavenly Father vital (and alive), chances are the following will become true: “If you find yourself a bit irritated or overwhelmed, it's a sign that you're spending less time with God and more time with this world.”[iii]

The chorus of the following song summarizes this post (and my prayer for those reading this):

 You are life, every breath
You're the heart beating in my chest
I breathe out and breathe You in
I need You more than oxygen
[iv]

I don’t always keep in mind that though the Almighty desires my praise; I am dependent on Him, and not the other way around. “We need God as much in the calm as in the storm.”[v]

Ø  “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah.” [vi]

Ø  “Nor would it be logical to think that this God would need human beings to provide Him with food and shelter—after all, He Himself would have given to humans everything they need—life, breath, food, shelter, and so on.”[vii]

“It is through solving problems correctly that we grow spiritually.  We are never given a burden unless we have the capacity to overcome it.  If a great problem is set before you, this merely indicates that you have the great inner strength to solve a great problem.

There is never really anything to be discouraged about, because difficulties are opportunities for inner growth, and the greater the difficulty the greater the opportunity for growth. “[viii]

“It's so easy to get whisked away in the hubbub of friends, work and business, but we need to take the time to be still and become aware of ourselves. The small things; the fact that we're still breathing; our ability to move; the presence of love around and in us; our strengths; our opportunities; [and] our journeys.[ix]

I'm convinced of this: Good done anywhere is good done everywhere. For a change, start by speaking to people rather than walking by them like they're stones that don't matter. As long as you're breathing, it's never too late to do some good.x

Sometimes God stirs us out of our comfortable situations in order to stretch us, and cause us to use our faith.[xi] When your life is filled with the desire to see the holiness in everyday life, something magical happens: ordinary life becomes extraordinary, and the very process of life begins to nourish your soul.[xii]

[i] “Breath again” means for a person to relax after being frightened or tense about something. Various musical artists have performed a song with the title of this post.
