Cross My Heart (and Hope to Die)

Since I’m no longer overweight, I…[i]
1.    Am no longer wearing 3x clothing.
2.    Am off all medications.
3.  Am walking two to three and half miles at a fast pace (without any breathing problems).
4.    Bought 1x tops, and now they are too big.
5.  Can bend over, and pick things up off the floor.
6.    Can carry things in front of me.
7.  Can cross my legs. (It’s not a pretty sight.)
8.    Can cut my toe nails, and massage my feet.
9.  Can do yard work. (bending, carrying, digging, etc.)
10.                      Can feel (and see) my rings are getting loose.
11. Can feel that my glasses aren’t so tight on my face.
12.                      Can lie on my back.
13.               Can sit on the floor, and play games with my children.
14.                      Can stand up, and put on my pants and socks.
15.               Can stand without shifting my weight (back and forth).
16.                      Can touch my toes.
17.               Can turn over in bed without grabbing onto the mattress.
18.                      Can walk up and down stairs (with very little problems).
19.               Can walk without breathing hard.
20.                      Can wash down walls and woodwork.
21.               Can wear medium width shoes.
22.                      Don’t drop food on my stomach anymore.
23.              Don’t need a cart to lean on in the store.
24.                      Don’t need a seatbelt extender in a plane (or car).
25.              Feel my shoes are loose on my feet.
26.                      Feel that my necklaces are no longer choker chains.
27.                      Feel that my wrist watch is no longer leaving an imprint a plump wrist.
28.                     Have discovered my thighs no longer painfully rub together when I walk.
29.                      Look straight down at the scales.
30.              No longer have pain in my hips, legs, backs, knees, and ankles.
31.                      Now have thin ankles (that I can see).
32.              Ran the perimeter of the gym track twice (and lived to tell about it).
33.                     Sit closer to the steering wheel.[ii]

“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it”[iii]
