Home Sweet Home

Q: I have lived all my life in a big city. I have always wondered what it might be like to live in a small town. Do you have any thoughts on that?

A: Living in a metropolis as you do has many artistic cultural benefits, but it is also true that immense cities like yours can often be crowded and exist at a much faster pace of life. While a small town may be full of charm and run at a much slower speed.
These communities can sometimes be lacking in privacy. Everyone knows everybody’s private business. Interesting news travels around town rather quickly. In all neighborhoods (if you look hard enough), you can find people helping each other.
If you wish to experience a slice of Americana at its best, you might consider relaxing for a leisurely read with the Mitford or Father Tim series by Jan Karon. Mitford, NC, is the town to be a part of full.

It is full of quirky; endearing characters and the pages of each book in these series is full of memorable quotes and life-changing lessons. There is no need to pack a suitcase because chances are you can arrive at this destination much sooner than you anticipated.
