“But one thing I do: forgetting what
lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:12, NAS) In everyone’s life, there are
things we are not happy of. Whether its something we’ve done to someone else
(or someone has done to us). The Apostle Paul’s words are as important today as
they were in his time.
I
admit that there are some things in life that it would be absolutely hard to
forget. Whatever that horrific thing might be, you’ve got to break away from it
if it keeps you from living your life. If professional counseling is needed,
please do it if this will bring you back to your own state of normalcy.
Looking
ahead to the future is a needed part of growth. Breaking a goal down into
manageable slices can make all the difference in accomplishing your vision (see
My Resolution).With the right
attitude of “I can do” no matter the obstacles, nothing can stop you.
Why
would you allow your past negatively influence your future? Your future is
bright and achievable. No one can strap you down with a negative stereotype
(unless you let them). Never be your own worse enemy because you are better
than that.
