What If

One of the worst phrases in the English language is “what if.” It implies the unrealistic ability to return to a negative event, and change it to a better outcome this time. The participant is left in an exhausting cycle of trying to do the impossible in their life. Regret doesn’t positively serve anyone’s best interests.

Some forms regret can come in are wishing you hadn’t hurt someone in the past (verbally, emotionally, or physically), wondering why you can’t control your constant addictions (get help), or hoping your family member (or friend) will forgive for that which you find unpardonable.

The past cannot be changed, but the present and future can be affected by what you do now. Instead of wallowing in a pool of self-defeat, get the help you need (possibly counseling) to make your life excellent and those around you glad to be with you. Your life can be a blessing to you and others, but only you can make that choice. Give it your best try. Only the best is in store for you. I am certain of that.
