Farewell to Dr. Dinoff

When I heard of William (Bill) Dinoff’s homecoming to Heaven on September 16, 2013, I was beside myself with grief. Losing this godly man was like severing a link to my childhood.  My family was charter members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Columbus, OH, at the very beginning. Along with my siblings and parents, I was there when the church began in Shady Lane Elementary, held midweek services in the basement of my Whitehall home, and then continued building and adding to its’ current location on Winchester Pike and Noe Bixby Road.
Pastor Dinoff was there to comfort my family during the sad times of my life when both my father and younger brother died as well the joyful occasion of my marriage to my wife, Bobbi. In my heart, Pastor Dinoff was a larger-than-life man (almost mythical) that seemed to have the answers to many of my problems right on the tip of his tongue.
Rest now my friend. You have run a good race. Your presence will be missed by your family and many friends. Those you loved in life are taken care of. We eagerly wait to see you in Heaven, a place where no more night or pain exists. The attached picture was taken in 1999 for a church directory. Dr. Bill Dinoff is next to the longtime love of his life, his wife and the church choir director (at that time), Jean Dinoff.
