Size

“It’s not about what size you wear. It’s about how you wear your size.” (www.stylehasnosize.com)

Did you know that it is always important to flatter the good features you have right now body-wise right (while hiding or disguising the less-than-perfect ones). Always keep working towards future goals)?  There are some people in this world who don’t care to dress up, put effort into their appearance, or buy new clothes until they reach certain a certain body size.

This mindset can slowly become a habit for those who don’t reach their ideal body goals within a certain time frame. This can cause discouragement by turning into a negative way of life. Being confident exudes beauty. Unless you feel good about the current version of yourself, reaching a target goal won’t happen. Take care of yourself, dress well, and focus on living a positive life, which can help you embrace all you have to offer yourself and others.

Just because something is trendy doesn't mean it will be flattering and stylish on you.  Be smart in your choices. Here are some important things to keep in mind as you dress for your best:

Buy what fits you now:  Don't buy clothes in a smaller size because you are hoping to fit into them soon.  Live in the present, and treat yourself well. Buy clothes that fit at the time of purchase.

Choose quality fabrics: Cheap fabrics do one of two things: stretch or cling.  Purchase clothing of good quality that has structure and with a fabric content that stretches.

Dress for your body shape: If you're rectangular, create shape with clothes and accessories.  If you have an hourglass shape, accentuate your curves.  If you're a pear shape, choose separates that will balance your silhouette.

Get measured: Know your measurements.  Look at the size charts especially if you are ordering on line.  Your shopping experience will be so much more rewarding if you purchase by measurements rather than what you think is your size.

Invest in accessories: Stay on-trend by accessorizing with shoes, purses, and jewelry.  Accessories are versatile and buying them is easy (unlike clothing).  Change up your basic outfits by adding stylish accessories.

Make sure the fit is right: Usually, large women are afraid to wear fitted items. In reality, some close-fitting items will accentuate a figure.  Avoid overly loose clothes as they do nothing to give a silhouette.  If you like it and it's too big, have it altered.  Tailoring is cheap, and will make all the difference in your look.

Pay attention to your hair and make-up: Clothing only goes so far.  A fabulous haircut and attractive make-up will add the finishing touch to your ensemble.

Purchase smaller patterns: Although prints are in, stick with smaller prints.  They'll be more flattering.  If you like larger prints, buy apparel with large areas of solid colors combined with larger prints.  Larger prints on the neckline and hem tend to produce a more flattering look on large women.

Show off your assets: Emphasize your greatest assets whether it's showing off your amazing curves or revealing your splendid shoulders.

Size is a number: Clothing sizes, even from the same manufacturer, can vary due to stretch ability of the fabric, manufacturing irregularities, and the general cut of a garment.  Arm yourself with a range of sizes when you go into a dressing room.  Buy what fits without regard to what is on the tag.

Use color: Color draws attention to certain areas.  Accent your assets with color.  If you want to show off your waist, add a contrasting belt, your neckline, add a colorful necklace.

Use shoes to accentuate your outfit: Shoes with platforms, wedges, bright colors and sparkle will add a touch of excitement and style to any outfit.

“To me, clothing is a form of self-expression. There are hints about who you are in what you wear.” (Mark Jacobs)[i]
