“The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.” (Oprah Winfrey)
Luke
2:52, New International Reader's Version
Jesus
became wiser and stronger. He also became more and more pleasing to God and to people.
Jesus grew…
1. Mentally
Wisdom begins with fear and respect for the Lord.
Knowledge of the Holy One leads to understanding. (Proverbs 9:10, Easy-to-Read
Version)
Wisdom is the ability to
correctly apply knowledge, but knowledge (which provides insight to make correct
decisions) is useless without wisdom. The two are connected together.
2. Physically
Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy
Spirit who comes from God and dwells inside of you? You do not own
yourself. You have been purchased at a great price, so use your body to
bring glory to God. (1
Corinthians 6:19-20, the Voice)
You are God’s
masterpiece, and He doesn’t like you damaging what He bought at such a great
price.
3.
Spiritually
For bodily exercise profits a little, but
godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that
now is and of that which is to come. (1 Timothy 4:8, New King James Version)
In community, the
Family of God can support you through both the good and bad of your life. When
you realize you’re in this together with your church family that cares about
you, it changes you as God’s child for the better.
4.
Socially
Most of all, love each other steadily and unselfishly,
because love makes up for many faults. (1 Peter 4:8, the Voice)
Do you need Jesus to
heal the broken parts and (dark’ hidden places) of your life, and also for
those you care about? If there is so much wrong in your life that you don’t
know where to start in your prayers, call out to Him because He is listening to
you (even when you don’t think He is).
Besides the good in life that happens, there can
also be some emotional and physical hurts that are both painful and exhausting.
Jesus wants to heal all your hurts (in His timing), and make you whole finally.
It’s time for you to go to Jesus (with all you are).
Good relationships in life can make the
difference between failing or thriving as a person.
Quotes to think about concerning the whole person:
· “God is always doing 10,000 things in your life,
and you may be aware of three of them.” (John Piper)
· “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him about your
plans.” (Woody Allen)
· “The God who has the whole the whole world in His hands has grace
for the whole world in His heart.” (Lewis B. Smedes)
· God didn't make bad things happen to you, but God is so amazing that
He can make good things out of the bad that [have]
happened, and He will make you whole again.” (LifeLoveQuotesandSayings.com)[i]
