Unsaid

Tacenda [applies to] things not to be mentioned or made public (things better left unsaid).”

The filter on my mouth has been broken my entire life. I am the kind of person that makes the comment no one else would dare say. If there is a topic that will make someone’s cheeks flush with embarrassment, people squirm in their seats, or cause others to give me dirty looks to shut up, that’s the kind of thing I want to talk about  with an individual (or a group of people).

Personally, I don’t believe there’s any topic off limits as long as the receiving party sees you care about them in the conversation you are having with them. My mother (and I) both have God-given ability to get people to open up and get strangers to tell us things they have told few others (or no one else) before. People regularly remark to me something like this, “No one has ever asked me that question before.”

Proverbs 12:18 (TPT) tells me exactly how the heavenly Father wishes my communication to be: Reckless words are like the thrusts of a sword, cutting remarks meant to stab and to hurt. But the words of the wise soothe and heal. Take an inventory of your daily talk patterns.  What can you improve on? Encourage someone somehow.  [i]
