Life tests who we are inside. Sometimes it seems too much to
handle. We often get so mixed up in our own suffering that we forget that
there’s a plan so much bigger than the tiny picture frame of our life we’re
looking at. He knows that you won’t be able to handle the situation that He
gives you without Him, and that’s something that we often forget.
He gives you a chance to see exactly who He is and what He is
capable of, but you just have to turn to Him first. I learned that the best
thing to do in times of suffering is to embrace God with open arms. You’re
suffering is not a punishment, but a sign of confidence and love. God trusts
you. You should trust Him. Among my favorite songs on the topic of God using us
is Tauren Wells’ "God's Not Done
With You."
Standing
in your ruins,
Feels a lot like the end
So used to losing,
You're afraid to try again
Right now all you see are ashes
Where there was a flame
Truth is that you're not forgotten
'Cause grace knows your name
Feels a lot like the end
So used to losing,
You're afraid to try again
Right now all you see are ashes
Where there was a flame
Truth is that you're not forgotten
'Cause grace knows your name
Even with your broken heart and your wounds and your scars
God's not done with you
Even when you're lost and it's hard and you've fallen apart
God's not done with you
It's not over, it's only begun
So don't hide, don't run
'Cause God's not done
With you, you.
There's a light you don't notice
Until you're standing in the dark
And there's a strength that's growing
Inside your shattered heart
God's not done with you
Even with your broken heart and your wounds and your scars
God's not done with you
Even when you're lost and it's hard and you've fallen apart
God's not done with you
It's not over, it's only begun
So don't hide, don't run
'Cause God's not done
With you, you.
He's not done with you, you.
He's got a plan, this is part of it
He's gonna finish what He started
He's got a plan, this is part of it
He's gonna finish what He started
He's not done
God's not done writing your story
No, He's not done
God's not done with you
God's not done with you
It's not over, it's only begun
So don't hide, don't run
'Cause God's not done
With you.
Failures are not a sign that God is
giving up on us. Quite the opposite, our failures are signs that we need to
reach out for more of Him. If you are feeling down after a failure, here are three
simple reasons to believe that God's still needs you in His service:
1.
His strength is
made perfect in our weakness-We should be
encouraged to know that the Lord's strength is made perfect in our weakness (2
Corinthians 12:9). When we can't stand strong or are unable to hold on, His
grace is made even more available for us to rely on. Think about it: When
we are tested, He doesn't want us whining and hoping to die. He wants us
fighting the good fight of faith always.
2.
Our
faithlessness doesn't cancel out His faithfulness-You've
failed a lot, and you feel like there's nothing more left for you. It’s just
like you've been banned from receiving God's love. Don't believe that. There is
nothing that could divide us from God’s plans for us. The Bible tells us that
if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). This simply means
our failures are not enough reason for God to fail us. He won't fail us even if
we have failed Him. He won't stop being good to us. We must hold on to that.
3.
You’re not in
Heaven right now-While you're still breathing, He has a purpose for you and
you need to go forward no matter what happens to you. Consider how many
times we are encouraged to keep going, persevere in trial, and overcome until
the end of our lives.
Think
about it: When we fail, or are tested, He doesn't want us whining and hoping to
die. He wants us fighting the good fight of faith always.
