When walking into a job interview, intimidation can bring you doubt. That job you eagerly want might be yours if you learn how to sell yourself.  Be sincere and authentic in describing yourself. Regardless of the type of job you are interviewing for, there are certain ways you can describe yourself that will be appealing to those you meet in this process.

5.00 Page ContentYou may be asked the question, "How would you describe yourself?" While this is something that should be anticipated and practiced, to do the best job describing yourself; know what kind of personality you have.  Here are many different ways to describe yourself in your next job interview:

1.   Accountable: "I take responsibility for my actions, and when things go wrong I don't look to outside forces to blame. I'm someone who looks at where I can improve upon the next time around.  Pointing fingers solves nothing."  


2.   Community Minded Team Player: "I am committed to putting aside personal gain for the well-being of those in this office." 


3.   Customer Focused:"Someone who is concerned with their department’s needs by consistently asking questions to uncover what is needed."  


4.   Driven to Excellence: “I am someone that can consistently meet my employer's expectations.  I would describe myself as a person who has consistently exceeded their goals."  


5.   Goal Oriented: "I am modest, but hard working and I consistently set achievable goals for myself.  Once I've defined my challenges, I take the necessary steps to be successful in meeting what I need to." 


6.   Growth and Development : "I am someone who is consistently taking the time to continue learning even though it's not a direct requirement of the job.  I find that many times it's a combination of what you study both directly and indirectly related to your job that allows for excellence in the workplace."


 

7.   Leadership: "I am a person who is able to control a situation rather than have a situation control them."  

 

8.   Positive Self-Starter:  "I am someone who thinks positively, and can carry out difficult tasks. I'm not an individual who needs to be micro-managed. When given a specific task, I can figure out the best ways to solve the problem in an independent manner."

9.   Resolute and Decisive: "I am someone who demonstrates an unwavering resolve to do whatever must be done to produce the best long-term results, no matter how difficult."  


10.       Results Oriented and Sensible: "I have a need to produce results. I am the type of person to meet challenges head-on rather than ignore them, and hope they go away. While I'm an optimistic person, I am also realistic about the current challenges this department has."  


11.       Self-Determined: "I am someone who has an unwavering resolve. I am determined to do well in my job, and am determined to excel in my career here."  


12.       Strong Personal Values: "I am someone who is mature, straightforward, and who has integrity.  Every day, I work to improve myself and my skills, which is part of maturing and becoming better at what you need me for."  


13.       Top Performer: "I want to be judged by individual performance and I want be rewarded for my efforts."


14.       Vision for Success: "I seek to work for a successful company that has strong leadership, vision, and who recognizes and rewards performers."
