“How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of
your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog. Now you see it; soon it is
gone.” (James 4:14, TLB)
Do you ever feel like you have those days that nothing seems
to be going right? Your list of craziness could go on forever. Christian artist,
Francesca Battistelli, talks about life coming unhinged in her song, "This Is the Stuff." Do these
lyrics ring true to your life?
Verse One
I
lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'cause I can't find my phone
And call me please 'cause I can't find my phone
Chorus
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
Might not be what I would choose
But this the stuff You use
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
Might not be what I would choose
But this the stuff You use
Verse Two
45 in a 35 sirens and fines
While I'm running behind
45 in a 35 sirens and fines
While I'm running behind
Chorus
Bridge
So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It’s not the end of the world
Chorus
So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It’s not the end of the world
Chorus
“We are confident that God is
able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and
accept His invitation to live according to His plan.” Romans
8:28 (VOICE)
How often do you think that our
Heavenly Father is going to use those little things that drive you crazy for your
greater good? We
all deal with frustrations, and tend to make bigger deals about things that go
wrong than we should. Maybe God wishes to teach you
patience by relying on Him completely to find solutions to all of life’s many
challenges.
Everything in your
life is meant to better you, and draw you closer to Him. That includes those
things that seem insignificant. The Almighty cares about every aspect of your
life. He wants you to surrender everything to Him. The pursuit of holiness is
not oppressive but joyful. It’s been made possible because of confidence in God's
unfailing grace.
The next time things happen that irritate
you. Remember that God is in control, and has it all worked out. Rely on your
Heavenly Father because He uses both the silly (and the serious) to mold you
into all that He needs you to be.
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living
someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the
results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out
your own inner voice…Most important, have the courage to follow your heart and
intuition. The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world
are the ones who do.
Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the
troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... [They are the] ones who see things differently. They're
not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify
them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change
things...
They
push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we
see genius, because the ones, who are crazy enough to think that they can
change the world, are the ones who do. Be a yardstick of quality. Some people
aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected.” (Steve Jobs)![]() |
