To Infinity and Beyond

For a failed TV show from the 1960's, Star Trek evolved into an amazing success story.  What is it about the show that captured our imaginations?  The storylines were incredibly intelligent (some might say wise) and offered us much to think about.  [i]

We selected some of the most thought-induced quotes we could find, from all the Star Trek movies and TV shows.  [ii]These wisdom quotes do not only include the original crew, but all the souls to ever wear the uniform.  Wisdom is wisdom, no matter who says it, and these are certainly spiritual wise thought for you to ponder: [iii]

1.      “How we deal with death is at least as important as how we deal with life.”[iv]

2.      “Believing oneself to be perfect is often the sign of a delusional mind.”[v]

3.      “Curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want.”[vi]

4.      “We have them just where they want us.”[vii]

5.      “A little suffering is good for the soul.”[viii]

6.      “A man… lives life as it happens to him; meets it head-on and licks it; or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away.”[ix]

7.      “If I can have honesty, it's easier to overlook mistakes.”[x]      Top of Form

8.      “It would seem that evil retreats when forcibly confronted.”[xi]

9.       “Men don't talk peace unless they're ready to back it up with war.”[xii]

10.    “One of the advantages of being a captain is being able to ask for advice without necessarily having to take it.”[xiii]

11.   “The heart is not a logical organ.”[xiv]

12.   "There's only one kind of woman ..." "Or man, for that matter.  You either believe in yourself or you don't."[xv]

13.   “When a child is taught ... it’s programmed with simple instructions, and at some point, if its mind develops properly, it exceeds the sum of what it was taught, thinks independently.”[xvi]

14.    “Without followers, evil cannot spread.”[xvii]

15.    “A woman should have compassion.”[xviii]

16.   “Behind every great man, there is a woman urging him on.”[xix]

17.   “Change is the essential process of all existence.”[xx]

18.   “Conquest is easy. Control is not.”[xxi]

19.   “Every living thing wants to survive.”[xxii]

20.   “Many myths are based on truth.”[xxiii]
