“God is much too
creative to stop at merely saving us, and too generous to keep us from enjoying
Him to the greatest extent possible. Therefore, He blesses each of His people
with certain gifts that enable us to serve Him, to serve our fellowman, and to
complement the work of others in His body, the church…”[i]
“Success is an opportunity to recognize our talents and strengths,
remembering that these are both a gift and a responsibility. When you work hard
and accept life’s ups and downs one day at a time, you will be rewarded with
the experience of who you are.”[ii]
I am not of the opinion that true creative ability
(whatever it might be) can be taught. My belief is that this talent is such a
part of this person that it cannot be severed from their personality (without
causing severe emotional damage).
This individual is happiest when they are completely
consumed in what they feel the Almighty intended them to do. It is a strong
source of personal completeness. Through the years I’ve learned the gift (that
I often take for granted) to describe my world in vivid detail some people
either can’t do, struggle to do or don’t want to do. I realize that I hold a
special place in the kingdom of God (as His mouthpiece) in willingly
proclaiming His truths in a clear and unique manner.
For
anyone that has read ENCOURAGE ME, maybe
you’ve wondered about the psyche of an encouragement blogger. It can be a
solitary hobby that requires lots of time on the Internet as well as a great
deal of concentration to produce quality material (in my opinion).
Since
inspiration is all around me, I have to guard my mind against only the best material
for my use. I never know where I will be, or what I will be doing when
inspiration hits. I try to avoid viewing any kind of inspirational material.
(Any idea that refuses to leave my mind will usually secure a spot on my blog.)
I
do not write daily, but I do post on a regular basis (one at a time for
concentration purposes). Creativity often happens to me with multiple topics holding
my creative brain hostage. I don’t get much rest until I record something in
the computer (or on paper). Unique titles for my posts often come from sources
like the regular, slang, or cliché dictionaries.
The
ideas tend to roll around in my brain so I don’t forget them. My creations can
take anywhere from three to four hours. This starts at the research phase to
the edited written piece you finally see. (Could you answer some questions that
will help to make ENCOURAGE ME even
more relevant to your life?)
1. What do you love or
hate about my blog? Please e-mail your comments at encouragementguru@gmail.com.
I want to spend composition time on the kind of things you want to read. On
this blog, the encouragement travels to both the sender (and the receiver)
2. Do you want more (less,
or no) quotes, song lyrics, or scripture verses?
3. What do you find
meaningful and useful for your life?
4. Do you want more
posts that are entirely my opinion? Do you like inclusion of interesting
materials by other authors?
5. Do you find my humor,
insights and creativity enchanting (or annoying)?
6. What are the topics
you would like me to discuss? Please let me know them. (You will be referenced
on the post as the contributor of the idea.)
I
always want you to feel the time you spent reading my views was well spent. It
should improve your life in some way
(or educate you on an important matter). May God always allow your unique light
to shine out to those who need it the most.
