For some time now, you’ve been feeling God’s
tugging at your heart. You wonder how long you can ignore what the Almighty is
asking of you. Giving control over completely to a divine, all-wise Father is a
horrifying prospect to you.
In Luke 9:60, 62 (MSG) two men were both
struggling with submission issues in immediately following Jesus. His combined
response them was as follows: “…First
things first. Your business is life not death. And life is urgent: Announce
God’s kingdom…No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s
kingdom off till tomorrow, seize the day.”
Submission is voluntarily cooperating out of
our love (and respect) for God first (and then secondly for a human being). This
important function helps us determine our roles, and what the Almighty is
calling us to do in our lives.
Submission helps to acknowledge another
person’s worth. It is a mutual, humble cooperation with each other. The church
acknowledges submission as one way to show God’s lordship over His children.
James 4:7-8(MSG) provides an important
reminder in giving in to the Heavenly Father. “So let God work His will in you…Say a quiet yes to God, and He’ll be
there in no time.”
Are you the submitter (or the seeker) in the
above verses? You are the only one that knows the true spiritual condition of
your heart. What is your answer to this important question?
