I
use the Gahanna branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library frequently. On the
back wall of the Homework Help Center is the following quote (in large black
lettering): “It’s hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.”
The author of these words is our twenty-sixth president, Theodore Roosevelt.
Whether
you believe (or disagree) in the politics of President Obama, we can all come
together on three points. First, his job is stressful (as is exemplified with
the premature graying of hair that eventually occurs to most U.S. presidents).
Second,
Barack Obama was driven in his pursuit of becoming our first African American
President (forty-four in the presidential line-up). Third, regardless of a
person’s personal feeling; we all should bathe our president in prayer that the
Heavenly Father will give him knowledge in making intelligent decisions for our
country.
Proverbs
3:5-7(MSG) says, “Trust God from the
bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen to
God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the One who will keep
you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil!”
Is
there something in your life that you’re afraid to attempt because of the possible
aspect of failure? You can’t predict the outcome (of anything).
With
the right advice from God and shrewd counsel, success could be right around the
next corner (if you just make a few scary steps outside your comfort zone).
Where does God figure into any accomplishment you might have? Be intelligent,
and figure Him into the equation. It just seems to makes good sense. What are
your thoughts on this?
