Little Is Much

Have you ever considered what a small amount of encouragement (or thoughtfulness) can make a humungous difference in someone’s life? When you’re a little sad, you check your Facebook account to find a funny picture (or quote) from a best friend. It causes you to giggle, which gives you a positive outlook (on a day that could have been negative).
What can make the difference between being proud of the “real” you, or putting up walls to keep others away? Consider a complement, which could be done verbally or via some form of electronic communication about someone’s appearance, or a positive character quality. A polite deed can be easily done in no time at all.
It might involve performing a needed chore for them or engaging in someone’s favorite activity (like a movie). Your gift of time can speak volumes in love.
Never underestimate the sacrificial power of forgiving someone (who doesn’t deserve it in your eyes), or praying to an all-wise Heavenly Father (for someone who desperately needs divine intervention). For others, a small inexpensive, well-thought could mean more than could ever be imagined.
Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another…” This is something we can all make a consistent part of our existence. To find out more about a life of true love (and encouragement), I highly recommend The Five Love Languages series by Gary Chapman. One day (when you are no longer among the living) will living friends and relatives remember you fondly, or celebrate your passing because you were a royal pain? Now is the time to make a change (while you can).
