In
my world, there are two things I absolutely cannot lose, or I go into a state
of complete hysteria (and panic). The first item is actually my lifeline to
reality, which is my cell phone (ancient). All my important phone and email contacts,
which I can’t do without, are stored here. I have become so used to texting and
calling people whenever I wish to that when the cell phone is missing; I feel
like one of my arms is gone. (Honestly.) I can’t remember the number of times
the cell phone has been misplaced (to say it nicely). When this happens, I pray
that the ringer is not on “complete silence.”
The
second item was recently lost in handicap parking at my local library on a
slushy winter day. Until I found this item, I was in paranoia and major panic
and irritation at the thought of recreating all have stored on it. For a
writer, a good thumb (or zip) drive is a needed tool of the trade. For those
items you can’t (or don’t) wish to e-mail to yourself, portable storage is the
way to go when you are creating writing-wise or moving from one computer to
another. On my thumb drive, is stored
all the writing I do for my church and my blog.
If
you ever lose something that is important to you, ask for help from the
Almighty. Retrace your steps by thinking clearly everywhere you might have been
with the item in your possession. (I’m not referring to one of your relatives
either because I can’t help with that.) If it’s meant for you to have the item
back, you will discover it. Good luck.
