A Guilty Pleasure

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be completely perfect. My male personality is one of multiple flaws. Answer this question for me. (Did you think I was going to let you get away that easy? You should now me by now.) If your guiltiest pleasure (or temptation) said, “You know you want me. Just give in like you know you want to. Sooner or later you’ll come over to my side.”  Enticement could come in the form of food, drugs, alcohol, a person, a lifestyle choice, or a website (guess the type).

If you chose (with your last ounce of strength) to not give into that which could be negative to you, what would stop you? Would the opinion of family (or friends) stop you? Would God’s disapproval of your actions halt everything? Are you afraid of what you might do (or become) if nothing was there to stop you.

Giving in might be the right thing to do for the moment, but eventually whatever the addiction (temptation) is will require greater amounts to get the same the same stimuli. Get counseling (or help from a reliable source) to figure out why there is such a desire for this in your life.

What if there is a hurt deep inside you that this addiction is fueling. You want to be a whole individual, and heal what’s underneath that scab, right. In the end, truth is more preferable than lie to the vast majority of people.
