Your Great Father

“Real Womanhood isn’t a function of becoming a great mother, but of being loved by your Great Father.” (Ann Voskamp)

Society often puts enormous demands on women with all they need to do and roles they need to wear.  These stressors can be exhausting at times. Here are some important reminders for females everywhere:

1.  She understands that being a female is a privilege: A real woman lives in the present day. She realizes life is precious, and refuses to waste a second of it. She admires and appreciates the fact that she was born a woman. Being a real woman to her is a gift. She cultivates her femininity at all levels: internal (emotions, feelings, thoughts) and external (body, clothing, behavior).

“Women who understand how powerful they are do not give into envy over meaningless things. Instead they fight, to maintain the beautiful bond of the sisterhood.

These are the real women who know that we need each other's love, and support to survive in this world. Love is the essence of being a woman. We must be that light of love that seals the bond & unique beauty of our sisterhood.”  (Bindu)

2.  She lives life at her own pace: Each of us has our own pace of life. She manages the events in her life the way she needs to, and she sets the pace to the circumstances. A real woman does not lose her appetite for life. She wants to understand the meaning of her actions and the reason for her behavior.

“That is the great distinction between the sexes. Men see objects. Women see the relationship between objects. It is an extra dimension of feeling which we men are without, and one that makes war abhorrent to all real women and absurd.” (John Fowles)

3.  She knows what makes her life thrive: She’s interested in her life, and never forgets that her personal space is precious. Despite everything, she’s able to support, help, and sympathize with others. She always listens to herself, and trusts her feelings.

A real woman works on herself, but she never does it to get anyone’s approval. She does it because she loves herself. She knows that it’s impossible to make everybody like her.

“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes (because that is the doorway to her heart) the place where love resides.” (Audrey Hepburn)

4.  She values aloneness as a gift to herself : A real woman loves and appreciates her alone time. Having time with oneself is good. It’s the best way to recover, and fill her life with calm meaning.

“Women need real moments of solitude and self reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away.” (Barbara De Angelis)

5.  She always loves herself at any age: A real woman benefits from her age. She believes that her age is not a limitation to what she can accomplish. That’s why she has no regrets about things she had no time to do. She still can do them. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t look after herself, and doesn’t try to look good. She knows that every age has its own beauty and charm. [i]

“Real women are fat, thin, neither, both, and otherwise.” (Hanne Blank)

“To me, a lady is not frilly, flouncy, flippant, frivolous and fluff-brained. She is gentle. She is gracious. She is godly, and she is giving. You and I have the gift of femininity... The more womanly we are. The more manly men will be, and the more God is glorified. Be women. Be only women. Be real women in obedience to God.” (Elisabeth Elliot)
