Q: When I get depressed over something, shopping makes
everything all right until the humongous credit card bills show up, and then I
get depressed again. (I know I need some serious professional counseling on
this.)
Is there any
entertaining fiction I can read on this topic that might cheer me up, and make
me forget temporarily this vicious cycle I’m in?

A: Becky Bloomwood Brandon was a writer for a financial,
but when it comes to saving money her mind is more geared towards the next big
sale. Though she wishes to have a husband and child one day, right now Becky is
doing her best to amass as many high-end clothes and shoes as she can.
Author
Sophie Kinsella of the Shopaholic series
does a fabulous job taking us on all the many adventures in our heroine’s life.
Just when you think there is no way possible Becky can get herself out of the
mess (financial or personal) she’s gotten herself into, something happens that
changes everything.
You may think the star of this book is rather
ditsy until she learns a enormous life-lesson that turns her life (and maybe
yours) upside down. You’ll laugh at the letters from Becky’s creditors as you
encourage her (with each page) to stop spending beyond her financial limit. I
bet you never thought retail therapy could make you laugh this much.
