Limitless

“Once you become fearless, life becomes limitless.” (Anonymous)

Successful people are often praised for being fearless in the pursuit of their goals. But living a fearless life does not mean living in the absence of fear. Instead, it means taking risks and dreaming big even in the face of fear. By facing your fears, changing your mindset, and making concrete changes you can be on your way to a successful, fearless future. You’ve probably heard of the saying “follow your heart” multiple times, but you may not have heard the phrase” follow your fear.” The end statement can be more life-changing than the earlier.

The biggest change you can make in your life is to say yes to all of your fears. Don’t allow fear to hinder you from moving forward in destiny. The truth is that fear is alive, and is not going away. These fears are the door to breakthrough so it is important that we begin to press through them no matter how painful it might be. We all have different fears maybe yours is being vulnerable. Whatever it is you don’t have to survive life submitting to those fears. There is a way out, and below are five key ways to accept your fears:

1.   Be consumed by your calling: Once you are passionate and consumed by what God has called you to do, emotional distractions become more insignificant.

2.   Be kind to yourself, and comfortable with making mistakes: When we are held up by fears, it’s because we are too scared to fail. The truth is that it’s ok to fail. The Bible says, Don’t interfere with good people’s lives; don’t try to get the best of them. No matter how many times you trip them up,   God-loyal people don’t stay down long; soon they’re up on their feet, while the wicked end up flat on their faces.” Proverbs 24: 15-16(MSG) Failing is not the issue if you are empowered to rise back up. It’s all about the comeback. Some of the biggest failures bring the biggest lessons that could not have been learned otherwise. Failure is nothing more than an opportunity for growth if you let it be that.

3.   Formulate the worst case scenario: This is especially useful for those of us that love being realistic, it puts things into perspective. I’ll give you an example of mine. Fear: speaking in a large group setting. The worst case scenario is that I stumble on my words, don’t speak powerfully, and never get invited to speak at that program. If indeed the worst case scenario happened, I would be alright. It is highly unlikely that I would never be invited to speak again.

4.   Hold on to God, accept His peace, and walk completely in it: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid. “John 14:27 (TLB) God has provided peace. I it is our duty to maintain it. That can only be done when we set our focus on the things of God. One look to the left or right will leave us feeling anxious and more fearful. The Bible says,” So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. Follow the example of all that we have imparted to you and the God of peace will be with you in all things. Philippians 4:8-9 (TPT) Our gaze must be fixed on the things of the Kingdom of Heaven.

5.   Remember that your fears are false evidence appearing real: Often times we exaggerate situations when they really aren’t as scary as they are. Understand that over the years, you have taken your fears out of proportion.

“It is not a matter of being fearless. The fear is sometimes constant, but it’s about moving forward regardless of the fear. Courage means feeling the fear and doing it anyway.” (Gillian Anderson)[i]
