Private

“Not every part of your private life needs to be public.” (Lulu-the GoodVibe.co)

Inappropriate public style selections seem to bloom likes roses in the season of summer (for both sexes).  What you wear in the privacy of your own home is your business, but what I see out in my world becomes mine. (Remember, your back and front yard can be open to public view also.) Let’s start with my gender. Here are my biggest complaints.

In my day, when your shorts (or pants) did not stay up, it was not considered a fashion, but an inconvenience with the constant pulling up to the waist that had to be done. It was a signal that the garment needed washing. During the summer, jogging can be a hot form of exercising. It is not a signal get rid of as much clothing as possible. No one wants to know the ratio of your chest hair, how much you’re sweating, or how well your gym work outs are going. Your shorts should not reveal the outline of your male part either.

For younger women, I should not be able to see the outline of your underwear (or your bare butt cheeks) in your cutoff blue jean shorts (or the inside of the pockets). Those are both clues they are too short. Avoid shirts that show your belly button, or are so tight, flimsy, (and low cut) that I can tell the kind of bra you’re wearing, or your cleavage is out there for all to see.

Within reason, (before you step out in public) does what you’re wearing pass according to 1 Corinthians 10:31 (CEV): When you eat or drink or do anything else always do it to honor God.” You are a representative of Christ where you go in public. What is your clothing saying about Him? I believe all clothing should be reasonably loose, comfortable, and not accentuate any one part of the body. To me, that’s tacky. Whether you have lost massive amounts of weight (like I did through bariatric surgery) or want the outside of you t reveal how good the inside of you feels about the person you are, there is a positive way to get that message across. I would be willing to say you know how to accomplish that goal.
